Tip Tuesday 12-18-2012
Schedule your families yearly health check ups.
Right in the middle of cold and flu season we travel to new places for holiday gatherings and see lots of new people, exposing us to lots of new germs.
Don't wait until you have a problem that needs fixing. Stay preventative.
Eat your favorite holiday treats on the buffet but don't completely skip the veggie trays and fruit salads or you may be sneezing in the new year. K.
Only 7 days until Christmas! Are you still shopping for gifts? Or have you been done for months? Leave a comment and let me know, it's the best gift to give a blogger ;)

Ceiling fans! Not just for the summertime!
Go here to find out which way the fan should turn to help circulate the air in the winter.
This goes right along with last weeks tip about turning down your thermostat. Have you tried it yet? Add in this ceiling fan tip to stay even warmer. K.

Tip Tuesday 12-04-2012
Lower your heating bill a great deal by setting the thermostat just two degrees lower.
C'mon, it's only TWO degrees, you can do this!
When you set your thermostat to 72 degrees or higher it causes heat strips to kick in...
..It works harder. You pay more.
It's December, stop trying to make it July inside. :) Buy some slippers, use a blanket, sit that warm laptop on your lap, long into your bank account online and decide how to budget your savings. K.

Pack your lunch!
This doesn't have to be a ritual saved for school children who lug around smelly bologna sandwiches anymore.
And packed lunches aren't just for school and work anymore either! When I'm out shopping with the babes, or even on the rare occasion I shop alone, I always pack enough snacks to make a meal.
Leftovers can easily be taken to the park or any outdoor seating area. These are the fun days your kids will remember and be grateful for, unlike that time you let them super size their fries...
Not only do you save money by packing your lunches, especially if you're using up leftovers (did you freeze those Thanksgiving leftovers?), but you save a lot of calories, and fat, and sugar, and salt, and I think you get the idea. K.

Save money by making your own broths. Very simple, if you can boil water, you can do this! With Thanksgiving just days away this is a great idea for those leftover turkey parts after you've carved the bird. K.
