Recipe: Lazy Cobbler
This recipe tastes and looks great but is so simple to make you don't even need a recipe card to remember the directions.
Ingredients:
2 Cans of a pie filling of your choice
1 Boxed yellow cake mix
2 Sticks of butter or margarine
Directions:
Pour the pie filling evenly in to a 13x9 baking dish. On top of the pie filling pour the dry yellow cake mix. Then to finish off the preparation cut the sticks of butter into tablespoon size pieces and drop evenly over the top.
Bake: 350 for 45 min to an hour or until golden brown on top.
Yields: About a dozen servings. You could stretch out the amount of servings by cutting down on size and adding a scoop of ice cream when served.
Also, try using apple pie filling and a cinnamon ice cream. Or cherry pie filling and a chocolate cake mix for something very decadent. To peach pie filling you could also add one cup of walnuts or dried cranberries. These substitutions will keep your taste testers from getting bored and always leave them wanting to try more! Leave a comment with your ideas for substitutions! I'd love to hear them! K.
